Children of Bodom will perform live in Sofia
Finnish metal band Children of Bodom will perform in Bulgaria for the first time on April 19 2011 in Zala Universiada, a media statement from Balkan Entertainment announced on November 24 2010.
Tickets for the show have been on sale since November 22, priced at 40 leva (standing) and 50 leva (seated). They are available at Eventim, Germanos, Piccadilly, Technomarket as well as the National Palace of Culture (NDK) ticket centre, the statement said.
Children of Bodom, originally from Espoo, Finland, were formed in 1993. The band consists of guitarist and vocalist Alexi Laiho (vocals, lead guitar), Roope Latvala (rhythm guitar), Janne Wirman (keyboards), Henkka Seppälä (bass), and Jaska Raatikainen (drums). In total they have released six studio albums, two live albums, two EPs, and one DVD.
The band's third studio record, Follow the Reaper, broke new frontiers for the Finns, as it was their first album to receive a Gold certification in Finland, and since then, all six of the band's studio albums have reached the same status, and subsequently received wider international acclaim.
More recently, the band came out with Skeletons in the Closet, a cover album released on September 22 2009. It features covers released on versions of previous albums but also includes four new tracks, including classics from Iron Maiden, Slayer and Alice Coopers, as well as Suicidal Tendencies, Britney Spears, Andrew WK, and Billy Idol.
In November, the band announced "
The Ugly World Tour 2011"
which will last for the duration of March-May 2011 and will feature dates around Europe, Bulgaria included.
