No offence intended here and it is just my opinion, but when i read these forums and hear so much talk about these poor street dogs and the lives they have, i can't help but to feel some sypathy towards the cause, but i then read of the outstanding work being done by the member Oddball and friends and their commitment to the children of the Silistra Orphanage and i really can't help but to feel that maybe support would have been more deserved in their direction.

I hear what you say WIT OLIFANT and as a forum we will be doing what ever we can to help Bernie with raising awareness and more importantly funds to help The Solistra Orphanage, if you read through all of Bernie's posts you will see that various members are trying to work out ways to help and also different ways to try and raise some funds for the new Doors and the floor including transport to Bulgaria that is needed, but this is a little more difficult as Bernie is in the UK so its geographically a lot more complicated to arrange anything but we are all open to suggestions of how to raise funds, and although its early days for this forum I'm sure that we will all do what we can help, so if you have any ideas about what as a forum we can do to try and raise some funds for the Solistra orphanage then let us all know and lets see what we can do

Thanks for your response and whilst being so candid, being polite about it

No offense taken. As well as supporting the Animals here I also support the Gavroche Childrens Centre in Varna and also donate to the Baby Orphanage in Vinitsa whenever I get anything they need.

The next fundraiser for the Gavroche Childrens centre is at the Aqua Hotel in Varna on 11th December - if you would like to come along and support us then I can give you details of how to purchase the tickets. It is a 4 course meal with live band and then a disco - we managed to raise 1,000 leva last year and the one we did in the Summer although a smaller affair was also very successful.

The BSAPP in Sofia is also active at the moment supporting - Movement of Bulgarian Mothers and they organize a lot of fundraising activities for the orphans in Bulgaria. Some of the Movements volunteers also love animals and rescue the homeless ones.

Because there are so many areas in Bulgaria that need support whether it be Animal Welfare or Orphans or Homelessness or the elderly, you will find on closer inspection that most organisations tend to support one another - after all we are all gods creatures at the end of the day.
