| So sorry to hear this but its not the first time I have heard a story like this and I'm afraid it won't be the last, I'm sure there will be people who will automatically blame the Gypsies? but lets be honest it could have been anyone even a Brit as some of them get more and more desperate they will do anything to survive, its a real shame when intruders come into your home but when they remove the fixtures and fittings it must be terrible |

| Now having read through this a few times I do feel for those who loose their house or possessions and I'm very sorry for all parties concerned however it does seem to me that certain individuals here are having a poke at each other and if this is the case can I suggest you do it via pm and not in this thread which is a very genuine post that has effected many people. Thats it rant over and don't shoot me |

| Just an update I have just had a call from my friends who have told me that the house was gutted by their Bulgarian neighbor who was the key holder for them it appears that he gutted the house and then opened a window saying it had been left open by the owners which wasn't the case, the police have taken prints and can only find the neighbor's prints in the house and on the window, but can not take any action since he was the key holder and his prints would be found in the house, he has taken the complete kitchen, light fittings, sockets, switches, shower, bathroom fittings, and doors, the house was only renovated about 8 months a go. This obviously will make you think about how much you can trust your neighbor? I have left my keys with my neighbor now for quite some time and I personally have no problems, but you must all be 100% sure about who you would trust your house/possessions to, I hope to have some pics later to add here as soon as I do I will add them. |

| I've just spent a goodly amount of time tidying this topic up For those that want to discuss 'property fraud', etc., there are other places here to do it. For those that want to behave like three year olds in a playground slagging match, then please go and find another forum to do it on. For those that think I'm being horrible, read the Terms of Use of this Forum: [url:1z7331me]http: //www. ourbulgariaforum. com/ucp. php?mode=terms[/url:1z7331me] " You agree that “Ourbulgariaforum” have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should we see fit." Plus, everyone on here has signed up to the following in the Terms: " You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “Ourbulgariaforum” is hosted or International Law." |

| Well put Chris I think it was late coming but better late than never, I have to agree with what Chris has said here there are other places on this forum if you wish to discuss property related fraud and there are plenty of playgrounds around too, you wouldn't be allowed to post some of the stuff elsewhere so why do it here? As stated if you continue then you will have the full force of the forum rules applied to you, so please people lets get this back on topic and use other threads to discuss other matters in a civil way. |

| Agree with both of you this topic was getting out of hand last night and I foolishly thought that common sense would prevail amongst you :shocked1:I'm not going to lock this topic because some of you think its your soapbox, you have all been warned so please continue with this topic as it was, which is nothing to do with property related fraud |

| how awful for anyones home to be violated, i live here and do dread going out for any length of time, in case some opportunist decides to take a chance. in this case it does look like they knew the owners were away for some time and taken advantage. this is bad and sad that they saw an opportunity to take from others. how awful. |

| I know its a bit like shutting the gate after the horse has bolted, but had the owners not considered insurance?
I managed to obtain Buildings and Contents insurance in the UK for a holiday home in Bulgaria for a mere £140 pa which gives £20k contents and up to £1,000,000,000 (Million) rebuilding costs cover
I'll need to dig through all the boxes we've still not unpacked yet if anyone needs their contact details, but for just over a tenner a month its worth considering if your going to leave the place empty at any point

| I am sure most of us have insurance Davey, but It is just the fact that someone has been into the house and gutted it and worse It could possibly be someone they knew and trusted. It's heartbreaking when something like this happens. When you consider the time effort and work gone into your dream home then for it to be destroyed by a so call friend It's just unbelievable I bet all the necessary security measure were also taken, but what can you do when the trust has been broken Most people us Intasure [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] as you say Davey well worth the few pound a month for peace of mind.
