regards photogeeza Just inform your UK bank that you are going to move to Bulgaria and give them your BG address. Most banks will then allow you to continue banking with them from abroad and send statements and cards to your BG address. Same goes for Credit Cards. This really applies if you have a long track record with them. If you don't, they may decline. George. |

If they find out, Sarah, you don't really want to know the sort of trouble you can get. |

| Hi,
Thanks for the replies.!
So it seems like its up to individual banks here in the uk, so am i wright in saying that there isn't any law saying that its not aloud, can i get into trouble with the authorities if i get found out for living in the Bulgaria but keeping my uk bank and savings accounts, i just want to do what the law requires if there is such a law.
cheers photogeeza |

cheers photogeeza Hi photogeeza, Basically, if you do say you live in the UK to get a bank account or continue a a bank account and don't it is fraud. If you do and they find out, they may take it the whole distance, which will not be a pleasant experience. It is up to the individual bank - if you have a good and long track record, it shouldn't be a problem. Regards, George. |

| When I lived in Bulgaria I told my banks that I was moving over but wanted to retain my accounts and they were more than happy for me to have a C/o address in the uk for my post but I also gave them my Bulgarian address and this was with LloydsTSB and Santander |

My bank account in the UK is with LloydsTSB and they were quite happy to send my statements and cards to my BG address, nothing C/O. Santander I don't know about. Regards, George. |

| It wasn't a problem with the bank they were more than happy to send everything to Bulgaria but it was just me being over concious about the Bulgarian Postal system and not receiving cards etc, I'm sure you've all gone through the same thing you spend time reading all sorts of stuff on the forums and at that time there really was only the Big daddy and we all know what rubbish you can read on there so that's why I decided to do it the way I did but as we all know now there is lots of useful information about both here and other sites |

| Much the same as my friends netsniperthefirst they did it for the same reason they was told not to allow the bank to send anything to Bulgaria and yes this advice was given to them by another forum no names :Very funny 2:they've been here for 5 years now and learned that its a lot of nonsense. |

| You may well be right, netsniper, about having doubts re getting your cards here. I may have been lucky, but I have been sent about 20 cards here and have received them all with no problem. You have mentioned postage coriolanus and I was wondering how reliable your postage service is in BG. Eric |

Eric Hi Eric, Postal service seems to depend on the area you are in. In general, it appears to be fairly unreliable. Because my abode seems not to exist, I use a PO Box at the local post office in Balchik. I have to say, that at now 6 years plus, it is virtually 100% here, in this area. Having said that, I ordered some Xmas gifts on the 17th Nov and have not yet received them - one parcel. Time will tell on that. Essentially, unpredictability - that is Bulgaria. I suspect that is your experience of Turkey. Nowhere, including the UK is really predictable anymore, though we may like to think so. |
