| I am not normally one to moan about the weather, not alot you can do about it ....BUT I want some warm sunshine...NOW It is May - I have visitors coming (1 on Monday & 2 next Sunday) - we want to have BBQ's, sit out a bit in the evening - maybe even go paddling in the Black sea - I want them to enjoy proper Bulgaria, not sat inside looking at my dwindling stock of firewood. |

| For once i dont mind being here in the UK , its hotter than normal here, but fires everywhere.....theres loads more smaller ones not listed on the news , idiots are setting fire to everything as its dry some with throw away barbeques and otheres deliberatly. On our industrial estate in the middle of Runcorn , yesterday someone set fire to piles of wood inside the 30 foot high tree hedges just 30 yards from our chemical storage container, luckily the fire engines got there quickly and put it out after just a few trees burnt, they said they had been to loads of grassland and bush fires accross runcorn over the past few days
I hope the weathers better there later in the year when i get there, looks cold now

| [size=55:18c3qwbg]Sofia echo Long weekend, and a wet one - rain and clouds forecast for Bulgaria This may be another four-day holiday but if you are planning any outings or trips over the weekend, be aware that the forecast is likely to dampen your enthusiasm. May 5 will see sporadic rain showers and overcast skies with temperatures varying between 6C and 12C for Sofia, while in other parts of the country the temperatures will rise to as much as 18C (Vidin, Sandanski and Varna) but rain will prevail. It will rain across most of Bulgaria, but in the west part of the country, Sofia included, towards the afternoon skies will clear, the weather report said. Sofia will see showers on Friday (May 6) so anyone attending the St George Day military parade ought to be prepared. Overcast skies and showers are expected throughout the weekend, with temperatures remaining between 6C and 15C. On most mountains, visibility will be good as it will be predominantly sunny on May 5. Heavier cloud cover will be observed at the eastern Stara Planina, closer to the Black Sea, where the elevation is also lower. It will be cloudy along the eastern Rhodope Mountains range and Strandja Mountains. Higher mountains like Rila and Pirin and the central Stara Planina range, however, are expected to be sunny, according to the Bulgarian meteorological service website. Temperatures at 2000 metres will be near 0C, with medium to strong north westerly winds. |

Climate Change Brings Fall to Bulgaria
Fall came to Bulgaria Saturday overnight and is expected to stay some days, with temperatures in the low 10s and heavy rainfall.
Un-typically for early May when spring is expected to be in full bloom, Sunday highs for capital Sofia will stay around 12 degrees C, with temperatures not much higher elsewhere, except for southern Bulgaria where they might reach 16 C.
Rainfall is expected to be significant across the country, with national forecasters warning of snow at elevations above 1500 m, where highs are expected to be below freezing.
Hikers are advised to abstain from going out or else exercise special caution, because of fog and high winds in addition to precipitation and unduly low temperatures.
The fall weather is expected to linger until Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday temperatures are expected to start rising, and some sun is expected Friday. |
