sorry, this is in england, a couple who bought a ruined tower in the hope of restoring it back to its original condition, with some modern facilities like a toilet, were refused planning permission because of the modern changes, yet they were prepared to save a really historical building that was on a risk category ( risk of being lost forever) , to own a historic building and want to restore its main features with a few changes were beyond anyones finaces. what do the heritage planning department want. they seem happy to let history rot. why. cannot believe they will put so many obstacles when they only want to retain the history as best they can but with a few modern inputs. why let it rot. dont make sense.

Your right it don't make sense but then does anything in the planning department make sense ? the answer is a big NO! I'm afraid to say that this country has gone bureaucracy mad, I know this doesn't kelp you much but to be honest the planning departments in councils are run buy a bunch of Monkeys

Heritage buildings and property that has to conform to the local by laws when they are old is the same in most countries,Bulgaria is no differant,ask Chris from OBG on this forum he has a listed building he lives in.if you buy a listed building be prepaired to spend money,lots of it

and thats the problem, you are the one that has to spend lots off money to conform, but no help from them, who are happy to see a historical building rot and crumble to nothing. wheres common sense in that. barmy. might as well just let nature take its course as they make it impossible to agree to changes of any gravity.
