Sofia police stops market distribution of 250kg of illegal meat

Authorities continue checking up on transport and sale of meat of suspicious origin, the press office of the Interior Ministry announced.
In the frames of a special police operation executed by the District Interior Ministry Directorate – Sofia, police officers stopped more than 250 kilos of meat of suspicious original from being distributed at the market.
At around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, authorities stopped a Renault Espace mini-bus for a check-up at Trakiya motorway. The vehicle was loaded with more than 250 calf and horse meat, which lacked the necessary health and identification marks and documents.
