| Let me tell you something strange (well, some of you might see it that way)....I had not heard of Valentines Day until I was 20 something years old. I still have no real idea of what it's all about. When I was a little sprout, we had Xmas Day (presents), we had Good Friday (eat fish) and Easter Sunday (eat chocolate or boiled eggs). Birthdays (sometimes you got a hug and if you were very lucky, a nice cake to share after tea. (that's what Aussies call the evening meal), but never a party.
These days, it seems that almost every day is dedicated to something, or someone special and is supposed to be celebrated and I've given up trying to keep up. Bulgarians seem to be almost obsessed with all these 'special' days and I find it rather amusing.
As for pancakes...in my house they are on the menu at least a dozen times a week, so nothing special there....
Did anyone notice that Lidl and Kaufland were selling Easter eggs on Boxing Day...along with many other big supermarkets in Bulgaria? |

| Thanks Berni...a young nephew of mine sent me a bunch of photos of this little kangaroo. His mother was hit by a car and killed a few hours before my brother came along and found the mess on the road...he checked the pouch and you can see what he found. He was about the size of a pound of butter and had no hair at all, but with a lot of care and attention, he survived...his name is 'Dusty' and he is about 4 months old. The dog is named Lilly and along with their other dog, they take care of this little chap...he thinks that Lilly is his Mum. When he is fully grown, he will be about four times taller than he is now. (around 6 feet, six inches)!!
I have some more pics of him...only if anyone is interested. |
