Easter Sunday in Bulgaria
Many Orthodox churches base their Easter date on the Julian calendar, which often differs from the Gregorian calendar that is used by many western countries. Therefore the Orthodox Easter period often occurs later than the Easter period that falls around the time of the March equinox.

In our house, Easter is observed in the Bulgarian tradition...hard boiled, painted eggs and the normal egg cracking competitions are enthusiastically enjoyed. Nary a chocolate version to be found.

We had Easter in the UK this year and it was the ususal easter eggs, then turkey for dinner and then TV nothing much going on really. We also had BG Easter which was a little different preparing the eggs then to Yvanka's for dinner and cracking the eggs.
