| If any of you use Firefox, you might find this useful. I've been using it for a number of years without any problems or major issues. Yesterday, I received a system message indicating that an update was available and suggesting I should install it. Having no reason to doubt the integrity, I did so. Huge mistake!!!!!!! I have spent the last 36 hours (give or take ) trying to get things back to normal on my PC....still not perfect, but better than yesterday, last night and most of today. Has anyone been affected in the same way??? I would humbly suggest that anyone using FF and sees the update message, ignore it for the moment. |

| No mine is fine. I recently updated as I cannot open notifications on here but even with the update I still cannot open so Firefox is fine for now, but will not update if I get the notification just in case. Thanks for the heads up. |

| Apologies for the delayed reply...I spent hours on the help and support sections of FF with little success...they freely admitted that quite a high number of other users were having problems after installing the latest update, but nothing they suggested would work for me.
I ended up doing a system restore a couple of hours ago...and it seems to be working OK now. It was a right PITA for a while, resetting all the passwords (even the one for this forum), but finally got it done.
Fingers crossed it keeps on working . |

| Yes, VG, that's the one which gave me grief...I went back to 43.0.1 and it's working perfectly again.
I have W8.1 Industry Pro (imbedded) and it didn't like something in the update. |
