Microsoft Will Give Pirates Free Windows 10


Pirates all over the world, who run a pirate version of Windows 7 or Windows 8 but dream about Windows 10 instead, can celebrate – Microsoft says that it will give away an upgrade copy for free even to the most piratical Chinese and Russian users.

It is not a secret that the Chinese are known for pirating everything, and the creators of copyrighted content have to approach the country very carefully. For example, China has official Hollywood films available online before they air in the US, ostensibly to fight piracy.

And now Microsoft brings good news for all pirates, including Chinese, who prefer not to pay for their content – the company is going to give away free upgrades of Windows 10 not only to the legal buyers of Windows 7 and Windows 8, but also to pirates.

Representatives of the company claimed that the plan was aimed at bringing the currently non-paying customers back on board. Microsoft has officially confirmed that it is going to upgrade all qualified personal computers, both genuine and non-genuine, to Windows 10.

A couple months ago, Microsoft announced that free upgrades of Windows 10 would be provided to legitimate users of Windows 7 and Windows 8, but it didn’t mention that the pirates would also be given an official free pass.

Before the company clarified that this move refers to all pirates, wherever they live, the illegal Windows 7 and 8 users in the US were expected to pay top dollar for Microsoft’s newest operating system. This led to assumptions that the Western pirates could pretend to be from China to avoid paying. Anyway, most of the illegal users were expected to remain with their current OS until the release of a stable version of Windows 10.

Anybody know how you get a copy

Getting a copy of any Microsft Windows is not a problem, you just go to the Microsoft website and download whichever version you want 'Free of Charge'

But they don't give you a serial number, which is effectively what you are paying for when buying a windows disc/OS.

(Just remember, you are expected to use your own existing serial) Although searched for 'Win7 Free Download' there was also a link to serials, but I neve went there.

Hadn't noticed before but am I correct in thinking there is no longer a 'EDIT' facility, or am I just missing it?

No, they are full versions, but you are supposed to use your own key.

So if you don't have a key/serial number, then after 30 days MS will block you.

These are basically for the likes of myself and everyone who buys a machine that comes pre-installed with windows, but want to do a fresh install without loading all the crap that is in the pre-installed version.

As said before, MS do not charge for the software 'they charge you for a serial number' which you can buy from them.

Has your PC not got a MS sticker on it with a serial number?
