They are indeed lovely Berni! It's what all of us are wearing this season!
I am getting some new hens and possibly a new mucking-out rake!

Nothing could be more useful than Wellies in some of our weather Berni, I am sure they look fashionable on you . . . !!

My eldest daughter sent Annette and I an assortment of thermal clothes this year for Christmas, bless her!! The weather in the UK this Winter has been worse than we have recieved in BG so far, especially with all the high winds and the flooding that has ocurred. Of course residents of the British Isles know that BG is in the Balkans and assume that our Winters are rather arctic, but we were lucky last year with the winter weather and the forecast for January and February is looking good and let's hope for the best before the storks arrive.

In the meantime Annette has her thermal socks on today and I will be wearing my artic type coat when we go to see friends.

Father Christmas bought me a bottle of whiskey. Sorry I can't put a picture on because it's all gone

We have had a lovely, quiet and non-commercial first Christmas in Bulgaria. We have had some lovely things given to us and will always treasure the memories of this week.

As mentioned before, the ladies in the Post Office sent us a bowl of decorations

The old couple to the North of us staggered round with three large pumpkins in a bag

The Baba to the East of us a bottle of home made wine and five rolls

Our wonderful neighbours to the South, some home made sausages, their own killed beef mince and belly pork, a plate of stuffed veg (cos I don't eat meat) and 2ltr pop bottle of wine.

And their daughter a plate of tirimisu torte (they spend two months of the year grape picking in Italy)

In return we have made and decorated a load of butter shortbread biscuits and given everyone (and the milk lady) a box full. odd numbers of course. And our best neighbours token gifts to than them for all their help.

Of course there was my painting of Murphy and new hand made (by Dave) kitchen units too.

Most fabulous Christmas here - no gifts bought or received, no visitors, and best of all no builders! Just 3 days of peace and quiet working in the garden!

Hope everyone else enjoyed the Christmas they wanted.

When a friends wife was going through a really bad time with her husband, she was cleaning their toilet with his toothbrush. To cut down on the cleaning time we bought him an electric toothbrush for Christmas! He did think it was a strange pressie for someone to get him when he opened it, his wife had to go into another room because she couldn't stop herself from laughing.

All is well now! They are divorced!!
