I have a major problem with ants, they are everywhere. this is the first time in 6 years i have had ants.
having a garden with a lot of concrete its very easy to see them, but they are coming over the wall from what i can see, which means i cannot find the nest. they are onto my trees which i dont want.
The garden centre gave me something called bandit ( a liquid ) but this has not worked.

Anyone else got or had this problem. any ideas.
not only are they in my garden, the blighters have a pretty nasty bite.

I have noticed a lot of ants, but I don't know what they are normally like. I have even got stung by them when they are in the pool. They are swarming all over my French and runner beans and anything else....including my feet if I am not careful.

Horrid, spiteful things, but no doubt they have a niche.

curry powder is the only thing that i know i can garentee to work on these beasts works every time hope it works for you too second best thing pepper

I have curry powder, so im going to give it a go.
Its not only the garden we have a problem with. when we are watching the telly of an evening all snug and cosy, suddenly out of nowhere an ant will appear, so we are the host and bringing them into the house. :Very sad:thankfully the house is not yet part of the ant path, so im hoping to solve the problem pretty quickly.
they use a spray in spain but i cannot get it here in bulgaria. ::

I'll try curry powder by my beans, they are swarming all over the French which seem to be coping, but the runners are not happy!

I had a ant infestation some years ago, they had come through the wall at some point then under the skirting board, what happened was I was sitting watching the TV when something moving caught my eye, only to look over to see the whole of my HiFi system was covered, even worse was that they also covered the phone and no way was I putting that to my ear, so I ended up sitting with the vacuum tube in one hand and every time one of the pesky blighter's showed their face they very quickly got vacuumed up, must admit I was very surprised that after a couple of hours they had all gone (into the vacuum) and no more problem from them.

Yep, took the bag out and left it up the garden before going to bed, but they were possibly dead by then anyway because they would have suffocated with the very fine dust in the bag, which is also why talcum powder also works to get rid of ants and many other insects.
