Nice money making scheme I think!Just like owning a Taxi in the UK as they have two MOT'S a year.Still I suppose with some of the werecks that are riding around it's not a bad idea if they do the MOT properly.

Well, Mot man says there is no change. Buses, taxis and vans are every six months, along with a handful of specialised vehicles and trailers. Interesting to note that campers and the like, if they are registered in a company name and not to an individual, are classed as a commercial vehicle. Now, before I get flamed again, there is a website..in Bulgarian, which you can check out for yourself.

had my m.o.t done in april at a cost of 35 lev, if i take it to them next year i get the m.o.t. for 25 lev. the car is in our own name not the company name. we failed the m.o.t. because we did not have a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher, but he let us off if we promised to get them. which we did.

Thanks for the info Bazz perhaps you could post the website on here so we can all look. I spoke to a Bulgarian frined and he also says the 6 months only applies to commercial vehicles like vans and campers etc cars are still the normal 12 months. We pay 50lev for the jeep's mot in Silistra. Guess it depends on where you live eh!

50 leva sounds a bit steep..I pay 30 for all types of private vehicles, including Jeeps..anyway, after much phaffing about, here is the site to look at..in Bulgarian, as I said, but it's the one the MOT people follow here. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ... 2135766401 Have fun translating this one.

thank you bgbazz for the internet site. How ever i have translated every word and read every word. It is very interesting and explains the requirements of the MOT testing station the tools computers and sizes. It list the education requirements needed to be the person that does the test again interesting reading but sadly the site is all about buses taxis and childrens buses so now i have looked for campervan site mot information and if it is in the google search some where i can't find it. The only thing that may be important to us at this time is that our campervan has reached 10 years old and there is a lot said about buses taxis cars used as taxis and childrens buses at 10 years old. We of course are non of this list either so we continue the search and we will let you know what if any thing we find. Thanks every one for your part in the discussion

I can't comment about things I couldn't find either..the biggest and busiest MOT garage in Plovdiv use these regulations as a guide and the top man told me today that the regs haven't changed significantly in recent months..in any case, any changes have to be made public for at least 30 days before they can become enforceable. This has NOT happened.
