Our property has not been lived in for a minimum of seven years now and tracing and finding out things about it is most difficult. We have no contact with the previous owners and so it is a case of "
Doctor Livingstone I Presume"
whilst walking around the field and digging up things like paths and water servers. When we arrived over a year ago there was 4 and a half deka covered in six foot weeds and undergrowth, now it is all clear thanks to help from our friends. So after a year we still didn't know anything about the well system until today. Bernard arrived with another BG friend and started to pipe our trough which is just outside our kitchen door, whilst doing so he unearthed a pipe system in a sunken concrete hole which had a steel cover and found a big plastic pipe with a thick garden hose and electric cable which was inside it. Where does this go we thought and started to clear another sunken concrete hole with a steel cover 40 metres away near the well and found that it served the trough at the house and had another pipe which when connected was lowered into the well and when all was put together with a pump completed the watering system for all our vegetables. So it was a fact finding day and we all enjoyed finding out more about our proporty and how it it would have worked when it was a farm.

Well done you! (And Bernard of course) That must be a relief with the well being a distance from the back door. We are hoping our neighbour will be able to help us with all sorts as it used to belong to their family, hopefully avoiding making too many mistakes....always providing we can communicate!

If you ask a Bulgarian 'do you speak English' it will be 'no' or 'just a little'. But keep in mind that most can read English. Our friends who are in their 70's often ask me to write down something and surprisingly it works g
