Syndicates Predict 250 000 Unemployed Bulgarians in 2010
The Confederation of Independent Bulgarian Syndicates (KNSB) Deputy Chair, Plamen Dimitrov, has stated that 200-250 000 Bulgarians will remain without jobs in 2010.
Dimitrov stated that the growth of real unemployment is difficult to predict but added that "
200-250 thousand people will remain without a livelihood and without income. How many of them are registered as unemployed is not clear.â€Â
According to Dimitrov single adults over the age of 65 will struggle the most financially this year, with the disabled and unemployed people also suffering terribly.
Dimitrov concluded that Bulgarians now have lower incomes, and unemployment is higher than last year but added that the only positive is that for the first time a Bulgarian PM – Boyko Borisov – is holding extensive dialogue with unions and their social partners.
