Can you please all take note of what's written below, it may mean we have some down time? or it may be that we won't but at least you know what's going on in the Cyber world. g

"
Anonymous"
: Stopping internet March 31

Hacker group "
Anonymous"
threatens to stop the Internet around the world on March 31, said the site webpronews, quoted by CROSS. For then it was planning an attack on 13 DNS servers that constitute the basis of the global network. The operation is called "
Eclipse World."
The impact will be performed by software that subverts the operation of these servers. When they can not respond to requests for so-called. system for domain names (DNS), users can not open the desired page and think that the internet "
does not work."

This time the protest is directed against "
bludgeon, Wall Street bankers and irresponsible governments who from pure selfishness and sadism have led the world to starvation,"
said a statement from the group.

Experts still doubt that the action of hackers may result in complete success. 13 DNS servers are located worldwide.
Each of them represents an offshoot from multiple servers with a common IP address.
in the system are thus a total of 259 servers connected to different providers.

Anonymous is back with their grandest threat yet.

This past week, an innocuous YouTube video was posted titled, “Anonymous Message to Congress.” The video was made in response to the shutting down of MegaUpload on Thursday by the federal government. This, as we reported, led to Anonymous’ largest coordinated attack in their history with over 5,000 people taking down over 10 federal and industry Web sites.

What is your opinion about what Anonymous are doing?

They do recognize that MegaUpload contained copyrighted content, but say that the take down was not about copyrighted materials. Anonymous demands that MegaUpload be reinstated within 72 hours.

Anonymous claims that they have gained access to the servers for the United Nations, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, US Bank, Capital One, Chase Bank, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. If their demands are not met, they will take down all of these servers.

For the banks, Anonymous claims that they have the account info of every client at these banks. They want to reassure citizens, however, that they are not going to compromise their information. They only want to make a statement to Congress.

Is this anything to do with it I wonder? I have read this on Theregister.co.uk/forum This is once again over reliance on computer sytems that fail for numerous reasons - power cuts, radiation, viral attacks and even program errors. In the days of pass books, pension books and weighing scales simple transactions could proceed even without electricity! Progress? Possible future problems 794030042

The Post Office's computer system has crashed, crippling services at branches nationwide, Royal Mail has admitted. It is understood that all of the UK's 11,800 post offices are affected. The fault, which started just after midday and is ongoing, walloped all post office services that rely on computers. Cash machines etc

It's sad when the country grinds to a halt all because of a computer malfunction, when they go wrong they go wrong, never had this with books of paper, &
pens &
pencils, IT is only as good as the PERSON who programmed it,and the operator.
