Hi all you Bulgaria travel veterens, can you offer any suggestions please for this trip mid September? We are coming to Velico Turnovo area for a week flying out on September 6th, and afterwards want to go on to Altinkum, Didim. Not necessarily without breaks, we could have a night and day in South Bulgaria if we can then get a night coach, perhaps to Izmir? I gather it could be a long wearying journey but maybe we could tackle it as 3 'legs' over several days with breaks between in places worth exploring? Of course we'd like to get there sooner if it was easy and practical . . . (but I'm not holding my breath)
So would anyone like to suggest an itinerary (or several) using sevices that they know to be still operating and likely to be still running in mid-September? Traveling overnight where possible sounds appealing, maybe not through the most scenic areas but certainly the flat bits! The plan is then to fly home from Bodrum so we don't need the return journey this time. We would be very grateful indeed for any suggestions and advice, having never travelled anywhere outside UK by public transport before! (And not speaking or reading Bulgarian or Turkish yet - oooops!!!!!)
