| the birds are busy building their nests, collecting all manner of things from the garden. as much as i like nature, i object to them picking the heads off my border plants that i have just planted. last year they took a rose bush before i planted it. anyone suggest a method that works, the dogs on patrol at the moment, but they will get bored before much longer. | Someone on here did say that their Bulgarian neighbour uses old cd's hanging in the garden which is very effective as the move in the wind and they are shiny which is something most birds fear. |

We use them on our vegetable patch. I would definately recomend them. Theres also a plant you can get that smells revolting, bit like cat wee. Thats supposed to keep birds out really well. sorry don't know what its called though, maybe some one else will. It a very small shrub looks a bit like a cactus but without the prickles. |

| I think your talking about Boxwood which has a very distinctive smell of cat pee but I haven't seen it in Bulgaria but even if you can get it I don't think you can have it in your garden if you have a pet cat? |

Thanks im hopeless with names. We have it in our garden so it does grow in bulgaria. Don't know about it being harmful to cats as we don't have any. Our neighbours cat is in the garden a lot and i don't think its done it any harm. |
