I've got my pet insurance renewal due this month and have the opportunity to get European cover for an unlimited amount of time. Does Bulgaria have any pet insurance companies or is this not something that is done out there? If it's not, I will grab the European cover on the new policy that's been offered.

I have not come across pet insurance in bulgaria, i do find vet fees relatively small in comparison to the uk. i had an emergency on a sunday, the vet was out of the area but agreed to open the office at 6pm to see my dog. numerous tests, blood tests, injections and ongoing treatment cost a total of 30 levs. an x ray in the uk is £110 pounds alone. I dread to imagine what that would have cost in the uk without insurance cover. in bulgaria maybe no insurance as yet but the costs are affordable.

I don't know if it exists but I'm sure that if you ask one of the companies they may well offer you cover

Starlite - I thought the costs of vets were cheaper, but that it was relative to the wage in Bulgaria. I didn't know it was that cheap! I can imagine that would've come to at least £250 here in the UK. Hmm, that is something to definitely think about
