First topic message reminder :

Has anyone heard if there has been a ruling from Brussels about being able to claim for winter fuel allowance if you live abroad and you are over 60.

The rules as they stand state that you can only get the allowance if you were already claiming it in the UK before you left.

Me too mate, but I actually moved here on my 60th birthday but when I went to claim they said I was not here for the first winter after my 60th!!
so there's a new excuse.!!

I am afraid it is the same old story here Tony - you have to be one step ahead of the UK government to get any form of benefit. The foreigners flooding into the UK don't seem to have any trouble though!!!
