:Howdy:Managed to get a few hours sleep last night. Kahl has just phoned to say he is in Austria ( in a place called Oed) not far from Vienna, he's stopped for few hours sleep. He got stuck in a 15 mile traffic jam in Arad this morning so that put him a bit behind. Have passed on your good wishes to him

:Howdy:Well, he dropped the trailer off in Germany about lunch time and is now nearly at the ferry port, so he's not done too badly even with the traffic hold ups. Going to see what sort of deal he can get on the ferry or maybe even euro tunnel. It must be a " man thing" , he loves trying to get a good deal out of the ferry companies.

:Howdy:Folks Arrived in the Uk about 9.30pm last night...I see Pat has been keeping you informed of my progress...so, I won't go on too much. The journey was free from real problems, although I did see quite a few nasty accidents, one of which happen right in front of me in Germany......stopped, got out, saw if I could help, couldn't, so moved on. One of the benefits of doing this journey is that I get to find cheaper fuel places, first place to fill up is Bulgaria 2.29leva litre (about a pound), always take two jerry cans with you full (that gives you about 40 litres)....once through Romania (Never fill up there), you get to Hungaria which unless you have florints, just keep on going until Austria.....Oed is the first place to fill up (as soon as you see the sign to Oed, pull off there and you will see where to fill up), it's where all the lorry drivers go...1.13 euro a litre, fill up your jerry cans again.....because you will only just make it to you next fill up.....Luxemburg 1.02 euro litre (jerry can fill up again).....that will get you to your next destination and back to Luxemburg for your return journey home. It only puts 20 miles on your journey if you go through Luxemburg, so it is worth going there...the cost of fuel there is the cheapest in Europe, you won't get it cheaper unless you know someone (lorry drivers) who' ll sell you some for 50 cents a litre...but I don't know any... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Germany, Romania and Hungaria are the most expensive....up to 1.48 euros a litre. Hope this helps anyone who has to travel back. Anyway, time to rest for a few days........

I have to agree with pixi its always good to know where we can save a few bob on fuel which is the biggest expense when driving to and from Bulgaria I'm glad you had a safe journey and look forward to reading more about it later
