On-Call Doctors at Night Replace GPs
Ten million leva allotted for around-the-clock medical service.
Medical professionals that visit patients at night will take the place of regular medical practitioners after work hours and during holidays. The National Health Insurance Fund will allocate ten million leva to doctors who decide to open offices in bigger cities that help patients around the clock, said the Health Minister Stefan Kostadinov. The initiative was launched by the GPs’ association. It is expected that the largest number of night medical offices will be opened in Sofia. Currently GPs are working with private medical centres that pay 500-100 leva a month for their services.
