Bulgaria's Sozopol to Host Traditional Apollonia Fest
Bulgaria's traditional Apollonia Festival of Arts will launch is 26th edition in the southern Black Sea resort town of Sozopol Saturday.
The festival, set to last August 28 - September 5, will feature as always a vast array of performances in music, theater, literature and the visual arts.
Apollonia 2010 will open 8.30 pm with a concert at the open-air theater in downtown Sozopol.
Among the highlights of the festival will be the exhibitions by famous and new Bulgarian painters at the Sozopol Art Gallery, as well as many jazz concerts.
The event will be extensively covered by the Bulgarian National TV and the Bulgarian National Radio.

Apollonia Festival of Arts, the largest and most popular Bulgarian art forum will be held in Sozopol from 28th of August to the 5th of September 2010.
Prior to the Festival’s beginning Apollonia Art Academy will be organizing two courses at the Otet Paissii Cultural Centre in Sozopol:
- Piano Masterclass under the eminent pianist Ludmil Angelov;
- String Quartet Masterclass under prof. Dimo Dimov, founder of the renowned Dimov String Quartet
Piano masterclass
12 students will be admitted, age limit - 35 (no age limit for audience members).
Audition will take place in Sozopol on August the 21st.
Repertoire – etude or a piece at candidate’s choice.
String Quartet Masterclass
Six string quartets will be admitted after an audition on August the 21st in Sozopol.
No limit for audience members.
Repertoire – classical or romantic piece at candidate’s choice.
Fees
Students:
Piano Masterclass -150 lv. per person.
String Quartet Masterclass - 80 lv. each member of the formation.
Audience members - 10 lv. per day per person.
Free accommodation for students only.
