Hi folks
I have just heard of some disturbing news. A very good friend of mine who has two up market villa's in Spain has been fined by a Court in Chichester today. He was taken to court by a client who claimed that there were ants everywhere in the villa's and a toaster broken, which was replaced with a new one the next day. When he appeared before the judge and the charges were read out it came to light that the client wasn't complaining about the ants and the toaster at all, he was complaining that my friend had delibertly deceived him by stating in his advertising material that both the villa's had Sky TV and broadband internet
My friend admits that he has not got the full Sky package, never the less he was offering SKY TV. As far as the broadband is concerned, Spain, like Bulgaria has a habbit of cutting off the electricity, so when that happens, no broadband facility
The Judge found my friend guilty under the trade descriptions act for not giving to the client what was described in the advertising material
He was fined £600.00 and £300.00 court costs, and the judge doesn't even have Sky TV in her own home
This is hard to believe but it is true and it brings home how precise we have got to be, just think how stupid this could be, we advertise our property with pictures of our home showing lovely green grass, but because it has not rained all summer the grass is brown, ARE WE LIABLE ????, As far as this judge is concerned it looks as if we are
