Residential quarter in eastern Bulgarian town ready to be evacuated due to flood alert
Targovishte. A residential quarter in the eastern Bulgarian town of Targovishte is ready for evacuation, because it might be flooded due to the recent heavy rain in the region, the mayor of the municipality of Targovishte, Dr. Krasimir Mirev, told FOCUS.
He says in case of evacuation the people will be accommodated in the schools.
“The people from the residential quarter have already experienced this during the floods in 2005 when some 500 people were evacuated. They have packed up their bags and are waiting. For now there are no problems and panic,” the mayor says.
