bit of a double edged sword is it not. and i dont really see the logic of it. its useful to know whos online as you can relate to some members and ask questions knowing your likely to get a response.

It feels like im on the forum totally alone.

seems funny to me, that people would want to browse in total privacy and cannot say that i agree with ut, sorry.

my objection is that people read peoples profiles, why, what for, what do you gain from that and now you can do it and no one will know.

I dont feel it is in the spirit of the forum, if you want privacy, stay away. sorry thats my view.

Hi Both I will restore the button as soon as I find away that members can not be seen without hiding their login? why they don't want others to know what they are doing ? I don't know? as soon as I've sorted it I will let you know , it won't be long I promise

Didn't know there was a button, but then I'm not bothered who's on line I only come here to read and comment where I can who cares who is or isn't on line

its how you view it really, when people are in chat, you can chat, if you dont know if anyone is online you cant do that, there is no other forum or facebook thats allows total unknowns, so why do it here, seems strange and why would you want to be unknown, im starlite, tells you volumes does it not. lol.

You will all be pleased to know that the WHO IS ONLINE will be back in place this week sometime

I'm not very Computer wise but this one was asked and answered a little while ago. But basically Bot is people looking at the site such as Google and the like. Nothing to worry about apparently ::

You're all correct ... bots are 'crawlers or robots'. Once we register the site with a search engine (google, yahoo, msn, etc.), then their 'bots' visit us every once in a while so that they can add any new topics to their search engines.
