I cant get my head around what you can do and cannot do. I want to build quite a big storage shed in WOOD. does it have to be 3 metres away from the boundary wall, it needs to be tall, aound 12 foot and 12 wide. can i do this or not, as no one seems to know. some say just do it, but im not sure.

think you will find , as in most things , it is different in all areas
in ours ,we can build a tempory structure i.e. wood ,without planning permission ...but still has to be 3 meters from the boarder

if you look at many bulgarian houses, they all have barns along the border, ie, not three metres from the border, i take it, if they have been there a certain time, it is allowed to stay, because that would mean every bulgarian house is in breach of planning. or was there no rules when the russians ruled. this is why its difficult to know what to do. our planning office has no english speaking people and my interpreter is away for a month, so i cant ask planning yet.

I know what your saying I have a building on the border and it seems to be accepted, so I guess its down to the planning office of the region you live in

or the neighbours you live next to, if they voice their annoyance to the kmet, your doomed. our neighbours had 6 months of work done, blocked the road with sand cement and the rest, nothing was said, when we had some building done, they informed the kmet and he came round shouting and stamping and throwing cement bags around, he was cross but did not speak a word of english so still dont know what it was all about, you have to be careful, we dont want to upset the apple cart, but need someone to tell us whats right and whats wrong, but who will.

Works both ways. Our neighbour constructed a 2-metre high wall (breezeblock) along our boundary, without planning.

We went to the Kmet, lodged an 'official complaint' and two weeks later, she was made to take it down again!

If you're unsure, take a copy of your skitsa to the Kmet, draw on it what you want to build and ask if it's OK. He may have to refer you to the 'town planner' but at least you'll be OK.

hi cheekychops, i darnt do anything until i know right from wrong. my lawyer is dealing with an outstanding issue reguarding the legality of the wall the builder built but never got signed off, nearly 3 years now, dont rush here do they lol. seeing her next week, so i hope to find out what i can do and cant do. most people do what they want and hope it is never discovered, but i cant do that, its just not me. will let you know the outcome.
