| Bulgaria's Kavarna Women Prepare to Rock
Bulgaria's now traditional Kavarna Rock Fest will take place on June 23 - 25 at the Black Sea coast's town stadium.
In a new departure, the organizers have announced that the opening day will consist entirely of female bands and performers.
Tarja Turunen, former Nightwish vocalist, will top the bill on the first day. Other performers will include Epika, Atrocity, Leave’s Eye, and Doron Pesh, formerly vocalist with German heavy metal group Warlock.
The second day will see performances by German trash metal bands Kreator and Sodom, in company with folk-rock legends Korpiklaani.
Canadian bands Annihilator and Voivod will perform on the third and final day, along with German groups Accept and Primal Fear.
The line-up of bands has not yet been finalized, as the organizers expect more groups to confirm their participation.
In another first for Bulgaria, Kavarna will have its own festival rock radio, broadcasting interviews and sounds from backstage. There will also be festival fun events, such as bungee jumping.
Tickets for the event are available from Tuesday, and are being distributed by Ticketstream. A single-day pass will cost BGN 40, and a three-day ticket BGN 90. |

| Ah but its not free like Mindya Rockfest which enters its 5th year in 2013 August 22,23 and 24th. Foreign bands are wanting to play but we need more sponsorship as we can't pay enough! |
