UK Citizen Gets Suspended Sentence for Bulgaria Marijuana Plot
A UK citizen, who was busted in the Bulgarian village of Osenovo near Varna for growing over 8 kg of marijuana, has been given a 3 year suspended sentence.
Jody Macon came to an agreement with Varna District Court after admitting guilt in the case. The final decision included a 3 year suspended sentence and a BGN 9 900 fine.
Police raided a house inhabited by 3 UK citizens in July 2009 and found 8kg 826g of marijuana thought to have a street value of BGN 35 304.
The complicity case against the other 2 UK citizens, Michelle Wood and John Teague, was dropped due to lack of evidence.
