Sofia Snow Plow Driver Killed in Train Collision
A snow plow collided with a freight train in the Bulgarian capital Sofia early Monday, killing the driver and injuring both train drivers.
The accident occurred at 05:00 when the ‘Titan Chistota Sofia’ snowplow hit the train on ‘Letostruy’ Street in Sofia. Initial information suggests that the snow plow driver had tried to cross the track when the barriers were down.
The two train drivers have been taken to local hospitals but the seriousness of their condition is not yet known.
As snow yet again fell on Sofia, ‘Titan Chistota Sofia’ reported that its drivers had been working non-stop all night to clear the capital’s streets.
‘Letostruy’ Street remains closed and Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova has attended the site of the accident, an investigation into which has already begun
