Hi fellow members
Have any members on this forum ever been refused advertising rights with
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I have and it is all down to a certain
James Letterby (and we all know who that is) contacting them and as you can read below, telling them a pack of lies. He also did the same last year with the other holiday company, namely Holiday Lettings now part of tripadviser and the police have a statement to that effect
After six months of fighting for my rights with their legal department, They asked for a copy of the Title Deeds, a copy of the proof of purchase and a copy of my driving licence, so they obviously prefer to believe the perpetrator (
James Letterby) rather than me and the police. I have, under The Data Protection Act 1989 requested information which led to the deactivation of my account, only to be ignored, so I have now put in a report/complaint to the Information Commissioners Office.
This is the final email I received from
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Dear Bryan,
I appreciate the time and effort made to send us the documents for your property.
After careful review of your account and your situation, we have made the decision to refuse the publication of your adverts on our site(s).
At HomeAway, we aim to delight our customers by creating a trustworthy marketplace. Though we believe that you have been the victim of ill-intentioned individuals, we cannot risk confusing our travellers as they are likely to check the identity of owners and their properties on the internet before making a booking.
I am sincerely sorry you are encountering this difficult situation and I hope that everything will turn out well for you in the future.

As I said on the phone to you, we had a fantastic holiday and you have been
polite and extremely helpful. Walnut House is a beautiful holiday villa with
all amenities provided.
I wish you luck in the future.
Kind regards
