OK you guys hope you have not been slacking just because it is winter  Show us or tell us what you have been up to this winter 2017

This is what I have been doing

1) Just finished this craft chests.  Made this from a banana box lid, cardboard and empty milk cartons. Just need attaching and squaring up now. Not at all bad eh!  What do you think?

2) Also still in the process of knitting a plastic bag mat.  It's coming on nicely now another black strip has been added recently eh!

Not a lot just keeping warm

Good to hear that BGT. They say this is the colders winter they have had for long time. I don't think it has been that cold or maybe our place was too hot, but even when we went outside it was not as cold as last year. We are expecting more snow this week. So keep warm..

I was in the Uk for a while over the Christmas period helping my daughter move house then back home I just spent the time so far relaxing.

Shovelling snow, chipping ice, shovelling snow, chipping ice....ad infinitum!

That's one way of looking at it I suppose....I don't do too bad for an almost 69 year old.



On another note...up at the farm today, checking on everything, we discovered that we have lost ALL of our bees...six full hives and a partial. Plenty of honey in all hives, all weatherproof and dry inside...no dead bodies to be seen. Our next door chap (where they all came from originally) has been keeping bees for more than 70 years and he has never seen this happen before. Quite the mystery!!

Mrs Bazz (Valia) is devastated.

Oh dear that is sad sorry to hear that. What could have happened to them?  Eaten by the wildlife or maybe stolen but then I suppose they would have taken the honey too

Over the last few weeks we have had two wonderful hot days so we too the opportunity to paint the villa outside.  Last week Dougie painted the first floor balcony, we just did not have the time over the past few years, so when we had the attempted breakins we just did the repairs but not the final painting.  We bricked in under the balcony too as this was dead space now we have two storage units but again never got round to painting the walls. So today I went outside and painted them yellow so the place is coming together again.  

In the summer we will break away that pathway and build a new one a little lower. but with drainage so the water runs away from the villa.  Learning something every day...   Oh look at my plastic bag flowers on the top balcony, they have survived the winter well eh!

Trying to keep myself busy so have made some plastic bag flowers to wrap around the post in the gazebo.
