| Woke up to a blanket of snow on the ground and more falling in Elhovo today. Our dog loved it - 1st time she has really seen snow - and she went bonkers in it!

| I can remember when it was guaranteed to snow in the uk but not anymore its a shame because I really do think its all part of the Christmas feeling building snowmen and throwing snowballs but not anymore me thinks [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Snow in Sliven, over 2"
(50mm) and the country hasn't ground to a halt so can't be in the UK! |

| I don't mind not having any snow it only brings the uk to a grinding halt its a good job we don't get leaves and snow on the train lines at the same time |

| Woke up to a good covering in Kotel yesterday morning. Hasn't stopped snowing since.
Still, it looks very nice and our dog loves rolling in snow too! |

The heaviest snow is reported in Eastern and Southern Bulgaria. Some villages, especially in the Burgas area, are still without electricity and/ or water, while icy roads have been blamed for numerous fender-benders. Snow-ploughs of regional road agencies continue to clean the heavy snow form the roads in the southern parts of the country. Several of the roads such as Burgas-Obzor, the Petrohan mountain pass, Batak-Dospat, the Rishki mountain pass, Momchilgrad-Krumovgrad and Omurtag-Kotel are still closed for heavy trucks. The road between Varna and Nessebar is closed for traffic. There are many icy spots reported on bridges on the " Hemus" and Trakiya" highways and on many other roads all over the country with snow and ice accumulating mostly in mountain passes. Over the last 24 hours Civil Defense teams have helped 137 vehicles stranded in the snow. |
