Insuring a Vehicle in Bulgaria and the Law;

“Motor third party liability” (Minimum requirement)

What is the object of that insurance?

The minimum compulsory insurance “Motor third party liability” (MTPL) covers the liability of the Insured against material damages or bodily injures they have been caused to third parties by use of motor vehicles, for which damages the Insured is liable under the Bulgarian legislation or the legislation of the country on the territory of which the accident occurred.

“CASCO” insurance of Motor vehicles for the territory of Bulgaria and Europe - /Eurocasco/

What is the object of that insurance?

According to your individual needs, you may choose:

„ Minimal casco”
Risks covered:
Fire;
hurricane;
hail;
flood;
lightning;
snow and/or ice accumulation, resulting from intensive snowfalls;

„Partial casco”
Risks covered:
All risks, as per clause “Minimal casco”, as well as:
Accidental airplane crashes or the falling of other objects on the vehicle;
Crashing into or impact by the vehicle and/or other physical objects, including road traffic incidents, as per the Law of road transportation;
Incidental opening of a hood or a door of the MTV while driving, if this has not occurred due to the negligence of the Insured.

„Extended casco”
Risks covered:
All risks under clause “Partial casco”, as well as:
Damages caused to the MTV by third parties via mechanical impact (impact with a hard object, scratching, intentional turnover of the MTV), effects from chemically active substances (acids, bases and others), arson and explosion.

„Full casco”
Risks covered:
All risks, as per the clause “Extended casco”, as well as:
Theft of the whole vehicle;
theft via burglary of a permanently mounted car audio, radio etc. similar equipment at a unit value of up to 5 % of the sum insured for the vehicle. The Value of the additional equipment will be entered in the policy but it should not exceed a total of 20% of the sum insured;

Risks covered:
Theft of the whole vehicle;
Robbery of the whole vehicle.

You will need to provide the following:

* The vehicle’s registration document

I see there is an insurance which is called "
Full Casco"
unlike "
Minimal Casko"
which will only insure me for things like a hurricanes, sea waves, landslides, steam piping systems and explosions, these I feel will not be very frequent events and will not the kind of insurance that I will require when living in BG. So after much serious thought Annette and I have decided on the full casco jobby. Can any members please advise on the general cost of Fully Comprehensive in comparison to the UK. Cost of insuring the Massey Ferguson tractor for doing the gardening would be handy as well.

PostSubject: Changing the company details and dissolving the company   Bulgarian Law on Insuring a Vehicle in Bulgaria Icon_minitimeMon Aug 29, 2016 7:43 pm

I bought my property 10 years ago in Bulgaria. I bought the property through an estate agent and was advised to open a company to do this. I have now decided that I wish to put the house in my and my husbands name. I found this relatively easy and completed this in one day. Now I have to register my intention to dissolve the company in Burgas at NAB? Or NOI? I'm wondering if anyone has done this part and can advise me? I have my new deeds for my house.
