Have you had a two leva coin in your change, if so, keep it, they were minted wrong!!! The 2 leva coin was circulated in December last year, but the BG mint made a mistake when they made them and they are now collectors pieces and will be worth much more in four or five years time. A Bulgarian Chemist showed me what was wrong with the coin, but for the life of me, I can't remember what he said, albeit they haven't made any new one's since last year. So if you have one of these coins put in a draw and keep it.

Put it away and hang on to it VG. I have been collecting coins for many years now and have quite a number of mint mistakes...their values have gone through the roof.

Anyone else on the forum enjoy the same hobby?

We have about a dozen or so, My better half decided to start collecting for whatever reason, so plenty about? not seen anything on national news, so would be interesting to know what the issue is??

Just to clarify...the 'mint mistakes' which I have, are from all around the world, not the BG coin. I've not come across one of those yet.

I actually asked in my local shop yesterday....it is a very popular business and serves a large number of customers every day, but none of the staff has seen one yet.

Unknown man buy fake cigarettes in Novi Pazar

Male offer 5 metal fakes on 2 lev a saleswoman in Novi Pazar, but the woman immediately felt and refused to accept them. The client, however, disappeared as abandoned coins and took two cartons of cigarettes.

The experience of passing counterfeit happened on Monday at a grocery store "Peci" street. "Patriarch Evtimiy" in the city. In the apartment entered a man who asked for two packs of cigarettes and pulled out 5 coins of 2 lev. On her clerk noticed that they look different. She told the customer that he doubted the veracity them. The man did persisted that she apparently had not seen the new coins. Under the pretext that he was going to take a big bill from his car, the man walked out of the store. The woman immediately report it to the police and fakes were seized. The coins are lighter than the original, are also very worn and look like long used. After contact issue unnatural sound.

Police warn people to be vigilant and if they notice banknotes or coins of dubious appearance, report to the police.

Had two more in change from Shop in Varna the other day, anyone have any more info on what is supposed to be wrong with the minting error? nothing in the press.

In light of the news re the counterfit coins , Im wondering if something got lost in Translation to the O/P and they ment "wrong " as in counterfit...not minted wrong.......just a thought !

I've still not seen one of these coins!
