With an investment of 5 million. Lev Yambol enter into the tourist map of Bulgaria.

So invest the state and municipality of operational program "Regional Development" to revitalize this town in southeastern Bulgaria. This is only the beginning of the transformation of Yambol attractive tourist destination, assured by the municipality. For this there are favorable conditions - the sights in the city and proximity to Bourgas and seaside resorts. The start was given to the project "made history", which were renovated emblematic Yambol arcade and adjacent to the city's archaeological park "Kabyle", which is socialized for visits. The city deserves to be seen more City Art Gallery "George Papazov" that stores a unique collection of masterpieces and the country's first Museum of combat glory. Be sure and visit the city park along the Tundzha River, which its layout resembles the Sea Garden in Varna and Burgas. Here is one of our biggest wineries, where you can sip the elixir of the Thracians. One of the most interesting places worth seeing when you get to Yambol, this is the archaeological park "Kabyle", included in the list of 100 National Tourist Sites. Ancient Thracian and ancient city and an adjacent sanctuary and Ancient Observatory, located on the "spatial organization" are so well preserved that the envy of the entire archaeological guild. The name "Zaychi tip" comes from the shape of the rock hill, which is located only 8 km from Yambol and is 500 meters from the highway "Trakia". This makes it extremely easy and not accidentally museum to preserve is much visited. "Kabyle" had a huge fortune on it in later centuries was built not anything, so already 45 years archaeologists swirl with full force in the shape of 280 acres on which stretched the town.
From the outset, the reserve falls under the wing of the Sofia University and thanks to the work of hundreds of students and graduates today revealed walls, buildings, baths, barracks, basilicas, towers and thousands of artifacts, the most valuable of which are exhibited in the museum. Memorial plaque at the entrance reminded that the great merit of his research is professor of University Professor. Velizar Velkov. The museum building was opened in 1986, but its exposure is brand new - from two years ago. Audiogid can show you in 5 languages but we recommend is the story of the archaeologist Stephen Bakardjiev, director of the Regional History Museum. At the beginning of the second century AD Romans turned the city into one of the biggest camps in the province of Thrace. He appeared he can clearly imagine it because the project "made history" has made its scaled reconstruction. Wood Camp (castle) is located directly behind the museum and volunteers dressed as Roman legionnaires present martial skills of the legion - arming, occupying defensive positions, movement and offensive techniques. Guests of reconstructions will be able to try on armor of legionnaires and to be photographed with him. They can also try and ancient dishes. In reconstructions, which are very common in Western Europe, Romania and Poland, feature actors from the Drama theater "Nevena Kokanova" theater group and "Thumb".
Then you can take to "Zaychi peak" in the middle of the road is built platform from which extends a magnificent view of the plain and archaeological excavations. Sanctuary occurs at the end of the second millennium BC In its highest part rock shaped openings oriented in the four cardinal directions. This feature allows the Thracian priests to observe the movement of the sun, the seasons change. Studies show geomagnetic anomalies which have a beneficial effect on the body. It is believed that if you lean back on the scale image of mother goddess Cybele, which is dedicated to the sanctuary, they will regulate the blood and has healing properties.
Yambol arcade - a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture
Yambol arcade (covered market) is located in the city center. This is the only one in Bulgaria preserved building of this type from the period of Ottoman rule. Built in the period 1509-1510, and is one of the most massive structures in Yambol, the natural center of the urban core. Its walls were so thick and strong that when in 1878 the city from retreating Ottoman troops set it on fire, the building remains intact. This "whole and intact" sees and describes in 1884 the Czech historian Konstantin Irechek. During the centuries of its existence, the building underwent several renovations (warehouses, city halls) and in 1973 was fully restored in a form closely resembling the original. Yambol arcade was declared a national historical monument, and in 1972 assumed the status of a cultural monument of national importance. Specialists claim that its interior space has very good acoustics and is suitable for various concerts. With the reconstruction of 2013-2015, the building was converted into a cultural and information center. Culture, history and tradition, recreated by modern technologies aim to immerse us in forgotten stories and strange happenings. On the ground floor are sorted by archaeological finds, unique icons from the local School of Painting and restoration of household and clothing of the nineteenth century. Special attention is paid to local gordost- festival "Kukerlandia" who for years collected in Yambol masked volunteers. With an investment of 5 million. This is great news for Yambol I visit there often but have always found it a bit run down and can see why it may not appeal to tourists however there are a lot of ex-pats living there in fact you cant walk through the town center without coming across a Brit. Yambol has opened its rehabilitated 16th century bedestan (bezistan; bedesten), a covered market from the period of the Ottoman Empire, which has now been turned into a cultural and information center with performance space, art exhibitions, and a museum section which is going to draw in some people but with the rest of the money they have I'm sure Yambol will be back on the map again.
