Bulgaria Tightens Firearm Laws to Include Gas Pistols
The Bulgarian Interior Ministry has revealed that the manufacture and sale of all firearms will be carried out after autorization by the Ministry according to the new draft law on weapons and pyrotechnics.
The law that has been passed by the center-right GREB government will likely come into force in early 2010 and will include all firearms including gas pistols.
The permit from the Interior Ministry will be permanent, but traders will have to renew the document every 5 years. The law requires retailers to notify the Interior Ministry of every weapon or device sold, and manufacturers will be required to mark all products with a special marking.
People who currently hold any firearms will have to register them with their regional Interior Ministry office within 1 year of the final adoption of the law.
This is a step in the right direction and should help stop illegal sales of guns
