In the seaside park of the city an underground town will be built on the site of a former bomb shelter. The landmark is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of guests. They will be invited to take an exciting 5D travel back in time or jump aboard a ghost ship. Guides taking you around will be real size holograms.
Guests to the underworld will be accompanied by a dolphin, sea captain or Roman aristocrat. At that time, various graphics, interactive scenery, sound and light effects will ignite the imagination.
"
Imagine crossing the threshold of the Underground City and suddenly finding yourself on the island of St. Anastasia where a storm starts raging. You feel the splashes of water and become a witness of a shipwreck,” says Nikolay Yotov from the company engaged in creating the light and sound effects. The new attraction will include interactive touch screen panels. The conceptual design is based on two main destinations in time and space. Guests will choose between two underground corridors, each of which will offer a variety of emotions. For example the dolphin avatar greets us from the entrance of the underground city and accompanies us around the Sea Adventures Gallery. There the hologram guide would become a participant in a pirate battle, while a sea storm rages right before our eyes. Another avatar - this time the hologram of a Roman aristocrat, will accompany visitors along the other corridor called "
The City - Time Travel."
There, people will learn about the history of the former port of "
Poros” and meet historical figures and famous people born in Burgas like Apostle Karamitev, Georgi Kaloyanchev, Petya Dubarova, Hristo Fotev and others.
Guests would also immerse themselves into the atmosphere of the Old Burgas with its unique urban culture and architecture. The project is financed under the Regional Development OP and totals over 1 million euro. The underground town will be completed next year, it was announced.
