This is probably a very silly question!

I want to leave some address stickers here in the UK for them to re address letters to me, strange question.....

Do i write in Cyrillic or not, do I put Stara Zagora or Стара Загора etc, if the address is all in Cyrillic so it gets there in Bulgaria would it be best for the country Bulgaria to be in English for while its in the UK? when posting from the UK?

One of my letters was returned to the UK as they could not find the address that was written in English. It cost my friend 96p to post to me and when it was returned it cost her £1.48 she was not happy. Must of had a new person at the post office as they all know us now. When I said it to the post mistress she just shrugged her sholders and said sorry maybe it would be best to ask your friends to write the address in Bulgarian. Therefore, I will get some name and address labels printed here and give them out when we go back. I have not tried posting a parcel to us yet might just get someone to send me a small parcel when I get back..

most that we recieve are written in English...but in the bulgarian format

Varna
town
Street
Name

I didnt know they wrote addresses in the upside down way, I would never have thought of that, I think I will test it by sending a letter to myself and see if it gets to me....and if it does where it goes when it gets here

same on this subject applies as to everything else in Bulgaria....dos not matter what the official line is...it depends on the interpretation of the person dealing with anything and everything here....thats why everything varies so much from area to area !! beit official or not

We've not had any problems getting post from the UK, addressed in English. However, I did get a parcel sent from Germany arriving via Bolivia!

We once received a parcel from the uk that went via Sweden and then France which took nearly 2 months to arrive.
