Hello all, I would like to know if any of you that have made the move from Turkey to Bulgaria had any problems bringing your belongings over in a van or a car at the Turkish or Bulgarian customs. Thanks.

There are a few on here who have made the move and as far as I know they didn't have any real problems but I'm sure they will be around to answer your question.

When we moved here from Turkey we used a person from Bulgaria who collected and delivered all our household goods to us without encountering any problems with either Turkish or Bulgarian Customs. The only issues we had was with our dogs, one who was seriously injured whilst in the care of the Pet Transport company we used. If you require any further help you can PM me.

We moved here from Turkey and all went well on the day. Turkey will charge you tax on anything which was purchased less than six months before you left. So on anything that you have purchased that is fairly new it is best to take the receipt with you on the day. An inventory in English, Turkish and Bulgarian is also necessary for the frontier if they check on your goods. The Erdine checkpoint has been awkward at times with Brits leaving Turkey and as a result we turned right before Erdine and went north for 12 K's and then left through the next frontier and sorry can't remember the name of the frontier. A calm composure is necessary and a friendly disposition is useful to eleviate any problems with border staff.
