| I'm surprised if it gets that warm that the flowerpots don't crack. Very interesting idea though (if you happen to live in a caravan or something) |

| Hi Chris I have a small office appx 8x6 and thought it would be worth a try, I built different to the one shown , too many candles etc two pots 7 inch & 5 inch used the bolt assembly method, one long lasting candle under centre of bolt, took about 2 hrs to get warm, principle, bolt gets hot and radiates the heat to the terracotta and then it dissipates..... after two hours I could still put my hands on the outer pot (Bolt was hot) but not a lot of difference in the room??

| Another tip you can use candles for is Survival if your vehicle breaks down in freezing weather. In Canada all vehicles carry a candle or two because like here the Winters can be harsh.A candle can save your life from freezing to death just one will be sufficient enough to keep the temprature up in the vehicle to stop the temprature plumeting. It's worth keeping one in your glove comparetment along with a box of matches or lighter. A sleeping bag and a shovel are other survival items the Canadians carry and that is law in Canada during the Winter. I was there in the early 90's and in those days like here rescue services were not available but it was against the law to pass a broken down vehicle at any time of the year weather circumstances have changed these days I don't know. |
