After much soul searching and deliberation (influenced somewhat by a very keen bidder), my beloved farm was sold today. I find myself wondering about how I'm going to spend all the free time which must surely come. Thankfully, all my workers will retain their jobs and their homes which were included in the sale. My small village home and land formed no part of the sale and will be enjoyed our children for the years to come.

That was a big step and I feel like a need a big hug right about now...

Congratulations to you Bazz - obviously a weight off your shoulders now and hopefully followed by some rest and comfort. Are you staying in BG in your village home or off to pastures new?

I sense very mixed feelings Bazz, but I'm sure you will soon wonder how you had time to run a farm. Take the time to do all those things you have always wanted to do but didn't have time for.

BIG hug

Thanks for the comments everyone..and the hug Sara. I'm not planning on leaving the area, but may be able to fit in decent holiday instead a few days here and there. I've not set a foot outside this country for over six years..might see about checking on the rest of the world a bit later on.

Can I just say, when I retired some 8 or 9 years ago (early retirement) I had all the intentions of doing all the things you are thinking off and no-doubt a few more, but apart from the usual 2 weeks here and there, I never really did get around to doing all 'or even most' of the things I had planned on doing as there always seemed to be something cropping up which meant delaying things for a while longer.

That is true, but the point of it being, is "
Don't put off today what can be done tomorrow"
because as we know 'tomorrow never comes'.

So, Good luck Baz and have many happy days exploring this wonderful world of ours. :A gentleman of leisure. 3003924059:

Thanks Phil..wise words indeed. Luckily, I've been around this great world of ours many times and I've seen many interesting things and places, some of these I want to see and experience again, some I wouldn't bother with. I want to try my hand with a flying suit and jump off a mountain somewhere only to land in the next country..I want to do triple flips with a snowboard..and not break my neck..the list goes on.

Enjoy your new life and remember this life isn't a rehersal so do what you can while you can and enjoy it fully. A gentleman of leisure. 1430720830
