| We are moving to another house soon which has a large garden, I would say its somewhere in the region of 800 to 1200 sq mtr. My question is do I buy a motor mower? or a big enough electric mower |

Petrol mower every time . If you get an electric one you have the mains cable to worry about and the safety protection by using an RCD and you also have a problem with cleaning the rotten thing. With a Petrol one no mains lead and you can jet wash it down after use. |

| I agree a petrol mower every time and a sit on one if you can go to that cost. Gets the job done and you out of the sun |

| Steer well clear of the electric jobbies..they are only useful for a postage stamp sized lawn! Ride on style can be useful, if you don't have any square corners, because you can't get into tight spaces with them..low hanging branches are a pain as well. I use a normal 4 stroke, push type and clean up tight corners and garden edges with a strimmer. The mower cost me 200 lev, five years ago, strimmer, with two different heads and all safety gear was 180 lev, four years ago. Both have been totally trouble free since new and it costs me about 1.50 lev to take care of a lawn and a long driveway which probably add up to around 1000 square metres. (twice a week during the warmer months). |

I'm thinking a garden of that size would definitely require a sit on mower, but then again I'm thinking of the fun to be had driving it around whenever you feel like it especially if the grounds have got fairly overgrown, not forgetting attachments that can also be used if you had a mind to, including a trailer for hauling stuff around the property of possibly even from the village. Not forgetting also that most walk along mowers are not so good over uneven ground. |

| I agree, certainly a petrol mower for anything bigger than a postage stamp. |

| The Mountfield HP454 Petrol Rotary Lawnmower is an excellent mower! Very easy to set up and start the engine. I cut the grass after 2 weeks of warm/rainy weather so the grass was long. Even with the speed on a medium setting it was effortless to use. The height adjustment is one lever that adjusts the height of all 4 wheels. Mine came with a 140cc OHV45 engine which I think is newer than the 150cc SV35.
Don't bother with electric |

| Mine is a cheapy, 5hp, Briggs and Stratton petrol model..wouldn't swap it for the world. If it decides to give up the game after 5 years of heavy use, I'll just go and and pay 200 leva for another one. It will cut 24" high grass or 1" high..up to you. the end result is the same. |
