Somewhere in the deepest darkest recesses of my brain are stored useless bits of information, that has been gathered over the years reading history. Now this could be totally wrong but is it that at one time the Papacy was split between France and Rome and that some of the Popes using the name Benedict are not counted or recognised by the Vatican?
