Snowy Weather Brings Large Delays at Sofia Airport

The snowy and windy weather in the Bulgarian capital has caused delays in departing and arriving flights at Sofia Airport.

The average delay is 30 minutes, according to the website of the airport. The departure flights have seen greater delays than the arriving one.

The Sofia-Bucharest flight saw the biggest delay – 2 hours and 41 minutes. The flights Sofia-Berlin, Sofia-London, and Sofia-Copenhagen have also been delayed by more than 2 hours. Flights to Amsterdam, Vienna, Athens, Milano, Madrid, and Dortmund have been delayed by more than 1 hour.

The Barcelona-Sofia flight registered the greatest delay among the arriving flights – 1 hour and 52 minutes. Delays of more than 40 minutes affected flights arriving from Bucharest, Prague, Frankfurt, and Paris.

I think this will get worse as it snows from what I have read Bulgaria is in for a lot of snow so this will make the problem even worse but at least its not leaves on the tracks
