| Yes hooray its St Georges Day tomorrow 6th May. Big holiday and celebrations for Bulgarians. Our village will be gathering in the church for a ceremony followed by a blessing over the traditional lamb soup. Then the village choir will be singing in costume. The weather is still beautiful and I hope the thunderstorms stay away for tomorrow. |

| Our small village enjoyed the day Bigsavak. The order of ceremonies was actually back to front from what I posted before. Choir first then church followed by the soup and blessing. Thought the pics would tell the story. It seems that although there are only about 300 inhabitants now down from 2,000 years ago, the village is not dying. We have a pensioners club, a rabota club (or nai rabota as one young Bulgarian jokes and now a children's club is starting if I understand correctly. 3 shops, 2 small bars, a post office and a doctor visits once a week. Not bad for somewhere so small but beautiful. |
