Vitamin C Frauds in Bulgaria
False ampoules with vitamin C sold in Bulgaria for three years
After the sausages without meat and the cheese without milk, now a new fraud hit the Bulgarians. Ampoules with a useless substance are sold to the Bulgarian clients, sources from the State Agency for Food Protection (SAFP) alarmed. The false ampoules are detected in pharmacies and shops. The ampoules does not have the necessary quantity of vitamin C, the check-up showed. The results of the inspection were confirmed in a laboratory in Hamburg, Germany, where several bunches were examined - three of them were produced in Spain, the fourth one in China. Thus, instead of helping with the fight against cold and treatments with antibiotics, the ampoules can even harm the health of the people - the sick people think they are doing a treatment but at the same time there is not real effect, the director of the SAFP Yordan Voinov explained.
Mr Voinov has ordered that all ampoules be taken away.
the imported of the false ampoules is Naturpharma and they have been on the Bulgarian market for 2-3 years, the director of the Association of the owners of pharmacies Nikolay Kostov commented.
