We have sold and bought lots of things on Ebay, it keeps us in contact with the real world. Annette cannot get any women's clothes over here in Turkey, they mostly make clothes in size 6 or 8 and for a mature lady such as my other half these clothes do not fit her!! I don't know how the Turkish women get on for clothes, mostly because when they reach maturity they are what I call " Big Momma's" an Evan's Store would be real handy here. I buy some clothes here, but they make everything on the tight side, shirts for instance come in the usual S M L, but the large is more like skin tight on me and I am only 42 in chest and a 33 in waist. As for Ebay, on searching for something on the American Ebay I came across a " Spitoon" , not the sort of thing you come across every day and certainly not something members of the public would hanker after. Nevertheless this thing interested me and after reading the details I found that this was made of brass with a famous name of a cargo company on the side. When watching the many western films I have seen many of these contraptions and cowboys who made an attempt to place the necessary moisture into it often missed and it hit the floor or some poor unfortunate sat nearby. This usually resulted in a gunfight and made the film more interesting to watch . . . so when I looked at the size of this one on Ebay it was 30 inches diameter. This of course foiled any attempt to purchase it because the postage would have been horrendous. Must get off the computer now and put my Stetson away!!!!!

I've had a few bargains on ebay, but my son and daughter-in-law are brilliant! They recently got an " as new" double buggy for £30 and then got a car seat that fits onto the buggy as well for 99p! Not only that, both items were within walking distance of their house so didn't need to pay any postage!

We bought a Lancia Kappa Estate on ebay. It was in Belgium and as I got free Eurostar over there I would have lost nothing if I had not bought it except for a ferry crossing that I might not have used. I had also made a return fare on Eurostar so again all eventualities were covered. But needless to say I bought the car and what a good buy it was. Kept it 4 years and still sold it as a running vehicle in BG. Worth every penny and what a work horse it was
