As you may have noticed that the mornings and evenings have become quite cool. I arrived here at the very end of August last year and I don't remember it being as cool as this. It is the middle of August and it feels like Autumn has arrived already as it feels like September. So this leads me to think are we going to have an early Winter and a possibly a prolonged one! I just hope that we don't repeat the last Winter as I don't mind snow but Artic tempratures over long period is not on my hope list!

its probably just a blip, the weather is usually pretty good in the daytime through september and october. unlike spain bulgaria is damp and does not hold the heat through the night. by mid september the nights are drawing in and i usually put the gas fire on mid september in the evenings.

Bulgaria has extreme weather from 40+ to -25, its a crazy climate.

I have even known -36 some years back but I find the winters are getting milder now.

Thank you Carmen for that encouraging piece of news. Having lived in Turkey for 5 years and only arriving here after the winter had finished, our bodies are only accustomed to heat. However, since living here my bronzed, sylph like body has endured mixing cement at an endless rate and my once perfect pink hands are nearly black and covered in knocks and bruises. But my house is looking all the better for it and hopefully my body will recover during the coming winter under the thermal clothes.

Yes Berni my thermals are in the wardrobe in a state of readiness for any drop in temperature. However, with paint brush in hand and the sun beating down outside with blistering continuity, I am about to slide out the front door and paint some of our windows on the outside. Us oldun's have the staying power to produce the goods and deliver on time, even if it means popping some Panadol before going to bed, my back has never ached so much!!!
